What to do after tinting your vehicle:

  • Rolling windows down: We recommend that you leave your windows up for 48 hours (2 days) after they are tinted. This will allow the film time to adhere to the glass so it will not peel when it is finally rolled down.

  • Drying time: Anywhere from the first few days to two weeks after your windows are tinted they will be cloudy, hazy, and you may see little water pockets forming in the tint. This is normal! When windows are tinted, the squeegee can only remove a certain amount of the water from between the film, and the glass. As the film dries, the remaining water will form little pockets. These will simply evaporate and go away by themselves. The amount of time before your new tint will be totally dry is determined by the amount of sunlight it gets. If it's cloudy and overcast outside, it will take longer, if it's hot and sunny, then the film dries very quickly.  By the 4th week your windows should be clear.

  • Cleaning: After your windows are tinted, you need to wait a couple of days to clean them. Basically, you do not want to risk pulling the tint loose, before it has a chance to dry. Once your vehicle has been tinted the windows will have been lightly wiped down, but will probably need a proper cleaning. A soft paper towel and any non-ammonia cleaner (do not use the blue "Windex with ammonia D", or any blue colored cleaners because they usually have ammonia in them).  You can use: Vinegar Windex (Green), or any of the citrus Windex's,. There are other cleaners made specifically for tinted windows such as Eagle One's 20/20. which are very good. In addition you can use soap and water, vinegar and water, or really anything without ammonia or abrasives.

Terms to Know

Total Solar Energy Rejected (TSER)
The percentage of total solar energy rejected by filmed glass. The higher this value, the less solar heat is transmitted.

Visible Light Transmitted
The percentage of visible light that passes directly through filmed glass: the higher the number, the lighter the film.

Infrared Rejection (IRR)

The percentage of solar infrared energy rejection over the wavelength range from 900 - 1000 nm.  Infrared rays are primarily responsible for the heat you feel when driving.

Infrared Engergy Rejection

The percentage of solar infrared energy rejection over the wavelength range from 780 - 2500 nm.  IRER takes into account the transmitted and absorbed IR energy that will be re-radiated into the car.

UV Rejection
The percentage of harmful ultraviolet light that is rejected by filmed glass. Ultraviolet light contributes to sunburn and other harmful skin conditions and to the fading and deterioration of fabrics and leather.

Glare Reduction
The percentage by which visible light is reduced by the addition of film.

Tint Q & A

How Many Windows Does My Car Have?

The number of window varies by make, model and year of your vehicle.  See examples of how we determine the number of windows.

Do you have to remove old tint?

If the tint is in good condition we do not need to remove it if you are wanting to make your tint darker.  IF the tint is in bad condition, have tears, scratches, bubbles or is lifting / separating, we absolutely need to remove it before applying new tint.  There is addition fees for tint removal pending on condition of damage.

What about the small or port windows?

Often times people will wonder why "small" windows are the same price as "big" windows. The answer is relatively simple - Much like electricians or contractors, window film installers are skilled tradesmen. Our team has decades of combined experience and our expertise can be seen in each and every vehicle that leaves our shop. The bulk of the price is not necessarily how much film is used, but rather how much time is involved on installing the film. "Small" windows need just as much attention as large ones. Each and every window is individually hand-cut to ensure the perfect look.  Although some windows may seem small, they most often take the same amount of time and labor to install as larger windows.

How long will it take to install window tint?

Installation times ranges from 1 to 4 hours depending on how many windows are being tinted and what type of vehicle it is.  If you having tint removed at the same time this will extend the wait time.  While you wait we have free WI-FI and a comfortable sitting area.

Do I need to make an appointment?

We are happy to take walk-Ins, but can not guarantee we can provide services right away.  Making an appoint is the best way to have services done  when you are available.

Can I tint my two front windows?

California Law states that you must allow more the 70% of light in on the front two windows.  New legislation has recently pass allowing for darker tint to be applied with a note / prescription from a doctor.  Please research for more details.
